“Mystically representing the cherubim, we sing the thrice-holy hymn to the life-giving Trinity. Let us now put aside all anxious cares of life so that we may worthily receive the King of all, Who comes to us in glory, ushered in by ranks of unseen angels. Alleluia, alleluia, alleuia.”
(
St. John Chrysostom )

.....Music serves a prominent role in the life and spirituality of this uniquely musical parish community. As the parish of the Kennedy Center and George Washington University , we both minister to and benefit from the abundant musical talents of our residents and visitors. Because our church is a spiritual home for a great many musicians, performers and artists, St. Stephen's Music Ministry seeks to provide a rich offering to the community of liturgical music, concerts and music education through the Parish Conservatory. Our church's rare acoustic provides a space where singing is a great delight, both for our musicians and our singing congregation!
When you load this page, you hear a clip from the CD "Ecos Sonoros: from Spain to Latin America," recorded by the former Schola Cantorum of St. Stephen Martyr and the early music ensemble Rocinante under the direction of Christopher Candela. The CD is soon to be released.
